The kit VP windows although nice just do not look right. The Photo etch parts available are much nicer and much more accurate. However, one can not simply place the PE parts over the kits part and be done with it. None of the struts line up. I sent the VIP windows to a friend to have the ribs sanded off and the window highly polished.

The VIP window piece is so highly polished, you can clearly see the VIP room and all it's detail. The view is no longer warped. All that is left to do now is lightly putty the surrounding VIP window and mask :)
 

I created a light box out of black styrene for the impulse crystal
